Notes from Explainer volunteer Barrie
It’s a new week, with a new group of enthusiastic diggers.
It’s also ‘new weather’ – no rain! While wet weather over the weekend had left the site dirty, today’s weather was good (at least to start with).
Trainees are uncovering a few new features and intersections between these are showing up. They are now being marked up for digging.
As Explainer volunteers we've been welcoming visitors from near and afar to the site, showing them handling finds, talking about the dig and telling them a little about the history of the Castle.
In just one day we've welcomed visitors from:
Barrie Lockwood, Explainer volunteer (and archaeology volunteer with Trent & Peak Archaeology)
